Open access

Shape open access with us: Purchase to Open

P2O is a collective funding model that lets libraries jointly make individual academic monographs open access. It fits into the acquisition channels you already use: approval plans, new-title services, ordering via eBiml and discovery in miliBib. Missing Link launched P2O together with partners from the book trade and the library world.

Beyond P2O we support further open access models, including those of Knowledge Unlatched, The Company of Biologists and Bristol University Press.

About us

Bookselling, librarianship and IT under one roof

Missing Link was founded in Bremen in 1991 and has been a registered cooperative (eG) since 2005. All founders and members of the cooperative work in the company themselves.

Our team brings together booksellers, librarians, specialists from many academic disciplines, IT and shipping. We develop our ordering and invoicing workflows, our portals and our data pipelines ourselves.

  • Bremen Head office, administration and shipping
  • Berlin, Bottrop Field sales
  • USA and UK Branches for export, logistics and publisher relations

Shaping what comes next

Together with our customers we take part in cataloguing and other library projects, support specialised information services (FID), refine EBS and PDA models and work towards metadata exchange without media breaks.

Bremer eBook-Tag

For more than twenty years we have hosted the Bremer eBook-Tag (Bremen eBook Day), where librarians and publishing professionals present, examine and question developments in the digital media world. The eBook-Tag gives Missing Link and its guests room for close exchange on the big and small questions of the library world, and is already recognised in many places as a professional development event.
